Itinerary

Day 1

Bangkok

Arrive in Bangkok and transfer to your hotel.

 

Day 2

Bangkok (B/L)

Enjoy a full day tour of Bangkok and visit Bangkok’s finest temples and a tour around the city’s fascinating canals. You will visit Wat Traimit - home to the world’s largest solid golden Buddha, Wat Pho. Hop across the road to the next stop, the magnificent Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, home to the prized Emerald Buddha statue dating back to the 14th Century. After lunch cruise on a traditional ‘long tail’ boat. Later drive back to your hotel.

Day 3

Bangkok (B)

Free day to explore Bangkok on own.

 

Day 4

Bangkok –Chiang Rai (B)

The first half is free to enjoy the hotel facilities. In afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Chiang Rai. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 5

Chiang Rai (B/L)

Embark on a full day tour leading to small towns and diverse border cities in Thailand’s northernmost region. Visit Akha and Yao hill tribe villages. Explore the villages and continue to Chiang Saen. Finally, head to Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand and an important trading city on the border of Thailand and Myanmar (Burma). Later relish delicious local food and enjoy on your ride back to Chiang Rai.

Day 6

Ching Rai – Chiang Khong – Pak Beng (B/L/D)

Wake up early, you will be transferred to Chiang Khong border for your onward journey. It’s an early start to the day as you board the boat for your cruise down the mighty Mekong. You’ll stop riverside at a small village to meet the locals and get a peek into their lives. The cruise will overnight at Pak Beng at the Luang Suay Lodge, a rustic hotel featuring wooden bungalows on stilts

Day 7

Pak Beng – Luang Prabang (B/L)

Wake early to explore the market where locals from surrounding villages come to sell fruit, vegetables and trade goods. After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, board the boat for the second leg of your cruise. The highlight today is the whiskey village where sticky rice is turned into the famed Lao Lao whiskey and distributed nationwide. The boat then starts the final leg of the journey, arriving in Luang Prabang late afternoon.

Day 8

Luang Prabang (B/L)

This morning explore many of the former royal capital’s cultural highlights. You’ll visit Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Mai, and the former Royal Palace, Next, climb 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi and enjoy panoramic views of the city.  Then, visit the Sun Bear Reserve a conservation centre that rescues these furry creatures from the wildlife trade.

Day 9

Luang Prabang – Hanoi (B)

The first half is free to enjoy the hotel facilities. In afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 10

Hanoi (B/L)

Enjoy the full day tour of Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. Enjoy a Water Puppet show. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax at your hotel.

Day 11

Hanoi – Halong Bay (B/L/D)

Proceed for 2 days Halong Bay tour on a traditional Junk to discover this World Heritage site, known as the 'land of 3000 islands'. Overnight on junk.

Day 12

Halong – Hanoi – Hue (Brunch/D)

Enjoy the sunrise on your junk. Tea and Coffee are served before you board small bamboo boats to visit  Luon Cave and then cruise back to Halong Bay. Transfer back to Hanoi and straight to the airport for your flight back home.
