Itinerary

Day 1

Muscat (B)

Arrive and transfer to your hotel.

 

Day 2

Muscat (B)

Today you will go for a half-day city tour of Muscat and visit Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in Oman, then you will head to the Bait Al Zubair Museum, later stopping at the fish market, where you get a feel of the traditional Arab market. Your final stop will be the official residences of the His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the magnificent Al Alam Palace, which is situated right in the heart of Muscat.

Day 3

Muscat – Nizwa (B/D)

Today you will drive to Nizwa. It will be an exciting journey through the mountains of Oman. The mountain roads are picturesque but steep. You will proceed towards Nakhl making a quick stop at the Ain Al Thowarah Hot Springs.  From here you will proceed to Al Awabi. You will then head to the Nizwa for overnight.

Day 4

Nizwa – Wahiba Sands (B/L/D)

Before heading to the Wahiba Sands, you will go for a short tour of Nizwa and visit the Nizwa Fort which is a seventeenth-century fort. Later visit the Nizwa Souq. From here you will drive to the Wahiba sands which is a vast expanse of desert which is part of the Al Sharqiya Sands of Oman, also known as Ramlat al Wahiba.

Day 5

Wahiba Sands – Muscat (B/L/D)

You will visit the quaint seaside town which is a great way of understanding the history of Oman’s coastal villages and offers a glimpse into what life was like in Gulf fishing villages of old. A visit to the dhow factory is also included. From here you will head to Muscat.

Day 6

Muscat – Khasab (B/L/D)

Transfer to the airport for flight to Khasab. Which is also the capital of the Musandam governorate, a peninsular region featuring extensive fjord-like craggy inlets and surrounded by looming mountains. On arrival start your tour and visit its sights, including Khasab Fort and the prehistorical rock paintings at Wadi Tawi. In the afternoon proceed on a half-day mountain safari to the highest peak of the Musandam Peninsula, Jabel Harim.

 

Day 7

Khasab (B/L/D)

Today you will go for a full day dhow cruise from Khasab Port. Experience the beauty of the coast of Oman, on a relaxed this cruise as you sail along Oman's spectacular coast on a 'Dhow,' a traditional wooden boat. If you are lucky you may even be able to catch sight of some dolphins frolicking in the clean blue waters.

Day 8

Khasab – Salalah (B/L/D)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Muscat and onwards to Salalah. On arrival transfer to the hotel.

Day 9

Salalah (B/L/D)

Today you will go for a full-day tour of Salalah and visit the coastal village of Taqah. From here drive to Khor Rori, a freshwater creek surrounded by greenery. You will then drive down to Al Mughsail Beach, whose white sand and blue waters make it the most popular beach in Salalah.

Day 10

Salalah – Muscat (B)

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Muscat.

Includes: Accommodation for 9 nights and meals as indicated. All local tours with an English speaking guide and transport using aircon car.
