Itinerary

Day 1

Vientiane

Arrive In Vientiane.

Day 2

Vientiane (B)

City tour takes you to oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo. Visit That Luang Stupa and the imposing Patuxay Monument.

Day 3

Vientiane (B)

Visit the Buddha Park, where a combination of Buddhist and Hindu statues was created by a mystical monk close to Mekong River. Stop at the Lao Disabled Womens Centre, which provides valuable training and schooling for disabled women in Laos.

Day 4

Vientiane – Xiengkhuoang - Phonsavan (B)

Take a short flight to Xiengkhouang. This area was heavily bombed during Vietnam War. Head out to Jar Site 1, the largest of the several Plain of Jars sites, where numerous large stone jars are littered. Explore the site and learn about the mysterious history of the jars.

Day 5

Phonsavan (B)

This morning visit the famous Plain Of Jars, extending around Phonsavanh. Here enormous jars of unknown origin are scattered everywhere.Visit the old capital of Muang Khoun and villages of Hmong hilltribe and Tai Dam people. Transfer to the PhouXang Viewpoint, to enjoy the panoramic scenery and a beautiful sunset!

Day 6

Phonsavan – Luang Prabang (B)

Early morning visit the Central Market, where local hill-tribes gather to barter their merchandise. Drive to Luang Prabang, en route visiting various hill-tribe villages.

Day 7

Luang Prabang (B)

City tour visiting the Former Royal Palace, Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Khili. Visit the weaving and textile villages of Ban Xangkhong and Ban Xienglek. Return and continue to Wat Visoun, known as ‘The Water Melon Stupa’ due to its shape. Enjoy the sunset from Mount Phou Si. 

Day 8

Luang Prabang (B)

Visit Pak Ou Cave and a boat ride on Mekong downstream, making a stop at Wat Done Khoun temple, a unique temple situated on an island in the Mekong. Continue to Luang Prabang.

Day 9

Luang Prabang (B)

Early morning ritual of offering alms to saffron-clad monks. Visit Sun Bear Reserve, a conservation centre that rescues animals from the wildlife trade. We then transfer to the Laos Buffalo Dairy, a social enterprise which helps underprivileged farmers with new sources of income by producing artisanal cheese from buffalo milk.

Day 10

Luang Prabang (B/L)

Drive to Ban Phong Van, to visit Living Land Farm and experience the life of a farmer. After lunch proceed to Artisans du Mekong which produces traditional mulberry paper and textiles. Return to Luang Prabang and visit Ock Pop Tok - The Living Crafts Centre to meet silk weavers, craft artisans and learn about Lao textiles.

Day 11

Luang Prabang (B)

Transfer to airport
