This tour is a true introduction to the heritage of North India and will take you to the country’s most popular sights. Start in the lively capital, Delhi, with the tree-lined boulevards of Lutyen’s New Delhi and the hustle and bustle of the Old City. Explore the Pink City of Jaipur, with its stately forts, sprawling palaces and colourful bazaars. Proceed to Agra, once the seat of the Mughal Empire, and known for its majestic Taj Mahal. Visit amazing Baterwara temples in Morena, followed by a visit to old temples in Orchha which is located on the river Betwa. Then to the Khajuraho to visit World Heritage-listed temples. Lastly, be smitten by the scenic splendour of the spiritual heart of India, Varanasi.

Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi

Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2

Delhi (B)

Morning tour of Old Delhi visiting Jama Mosque, Red Fort and take a rickshaw ride through fabled Chandni Chowk. Afternoon visit to New Delhi visiting Humayun’s tomb, drive past Government Buildings, Connaught Place, Presidents House and India Gate.

Day 3

Delhi - Jaipur (B)

You will depart for Jaipur and afternoon explores the colourful bazaars of Jaipur.

Day 4

Jaipur (B)

Today visit the hilltop Amber Fort with its picturesque Sheesh Mahal. The afternoon city tour takes you to Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the Observatory-Jantar Mantar and City Palace.

Day 5

Jaipur – Agra (B)

Leave for Agra visiting en route Fatehpur Sikri, the mysterious fortified ‘ghost city’. This afternoon you will visit the Agra Fort.

Day 6

Agra – Morena – Gwalior (B)

Visit the beautiful Taj Mahal, a monument of love. Later Drive to Morena to visit Bateswara Temple. Following the drive to Gwalior.

Day 7

Gwalior (B)

Today you will do a half day sightseeing tour of Gwalior and visit the Gwalior fort, which is also called Gibraltar of India. The tour will also be cover Mansingh Palace, A Sas- Bahu temple, Teli-Ka-Mandir & Jain sculptures and Jai Vilas Palace Museum.

Day 8

Gwalior – Orcha (B)

Early morning you will leave Gwalior to drive to Orcha. Orchard city is located at the ghats of the river Betwa, on the way visit old temples and palaces in Orcha.

Day 9

Orcha – Khajuraho (B)

Drive to Khajuraho this morning. Check in at the hotel in Khajuraho and then take an afternoon tour of Khajuraho which has three groups of World Heritage-listed temples.

Day 10

Khajuraho – Varanasi (B)

Transfer to Khajuraho airport to connect flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival check in and relax. Evening witness Aarti on the Ganges, the sacred “light ceremony”, on the riverbanks of Mother Ganges.

Day 11

Varanasi – Delhi (B)

Embark on a serene morning boat journey along the Yamuna River, followed by transfer to Varanasi airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you can either connect to your onward flight or consider extending your stay in India by selecting from our range of additional tours.
