Day 14

Wachau Arrival 08:00 – Departure 13:30.

Excursion of the day – Excursion Wachau incl. Melk Abbey

The first stop is the 900 years old Baroque monastery Melk with its one of a kind monastery park. An Eye catcher with its baroque pavilion. Benedictine monks inhabit the monastery since the inception. Afterwards we will drive through a beautiful landscape to the wonderful located wine village Dürnstein. After a little tour you will continue on through the wine roads where the sun lets the finest produce of this area thrive, the wine. At the end of this excursion you will enjoy a wine tasting.

Day 13

Bratislava Arrival 13:30 – Departure 16.30.

Excursion of the day – City Tour Bratislava

The tour will take you by St. Martin cathedral - the Coronation church of the monarchs of the Kingdom of Hungary. Moving on along the medieval city walls on to Grasalkoviþov palác (Grassalkovich Palace - the residence of the president) and up the castle hill to the breathtaking view of the city and its surroundings. Here you can take a tour of this impressive landmark – the Castle Bratislava (85 meters above the Danube). On a guided tour through the historical city centre discover impressive buildings like the Martins cathedral, the town houses of the Renaissance and the Baroque palace just to name a few. On the „Hlavné námestie“ (Main square) you will see the old town hall. Rejuvenate with a cup of coffee or tea in one of the art nouveau coffee houses or in the traditional „Café Mayer“. The medieval streets will lead you past the opera, the Ganymede’s fountain and the “Reduta” back to our pier.

Day 12

Budapest Arrival 09:00 – Departure 21:30.

Excursion of the day - City tour Budapest

We are driving from our pier to the Heroes square with monuments of many Hungarian kings and the Millennium monument. On both sides of the beautiful parade grounds you will see impressive buildings, both of the new and old eras. We continue on our drive and you will discover familiar sides but also unknown sides in this city so rich of traditions – magnificent Baroque buildings, the parliament right by the Danube shore and the famous “Chain bridge”. You will walk through the old fortress quarter and we will reach the “Matthias church” – the Coronation church of the Hungarian Kings. Right by this church you will see the “Halászbástya” (Fisherman's Bastion) with an amazing view of the Danube River and the parliament.

Or Gödöllő Palace incl. sparkling wine and coffee time 

Gödöll Palace (also Grassalkovich Castle) is located about 25 kilometers northeast of the capital Budapest in the town of Gödöll. The castle was built in the 18th century and later became the residence of the Austrian Empress and Hungarian Queen Sisi. Gödöll Palace - Sisi’s favorite palace - is one of the largest baroque castles in the world and mostly back to its former splendor after renovations. This is where the story comes to life - of which you can convince yourself during the guided tour of the castle itself. The castle is home to a castle museum, which currently has nearly 30 rooms to visit. The focus of the museum was placed on the royal era of Gödöll and the life of Queen Elisabeth. On the way back to the ship you drive to the first Budapest strudel house. Here you can enjoy in a strudel tasting (2 different varieties) with Tokaj wine. In a good mood, you return to your ship.

Day 11

Mohács Arrival 10:00 – Departure 17:30.

Excursion of the day – City Tour Pecs 

From the pier in Mohács you can take the bus to one of the most beautiful cities in Hungary, Pecs (Pécs). Located in southern Transdanubia, Pecs awaits its visitors with a mild climate, Mediterranean charm, as well as numerous high-ranking monuments and works of art, which contributed to the city's status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sights include the 11th-century Cathedral, the Episcopal Palace and the Episcopal Library, the Barbakán Tower and the mosque of Pasha Yakovali Hassan, the best-preserved Islamic building in Hungary. Next to it is a 23 meter high minaret.

Day 10

Novi Sad Arrival 16:00 – Departure 21:00.

Excursion of the day – City Tour Novi Sad 

The city of Novi Sad is located on the banks of the Danube in northern Serbia. Petrovaradin Fortress, which dates mostly from the 17th and 18th centuries, is known for its distinctive clock tower and tunnel system. On the opposite bank is the old town of Stari Grad with the Neo-Gothic church Maria Namen and the town hall in neo-renaissance style. Near the freedom square “Freiheitsplatz” lies the Maria-Dormitory-Church. The Dormition Church was recognized as a cultural monument of outstanding importance to Serbia and placed under the protection of the state.

Oltenita Arrival 09:30 – Departure 10:00.

Excursion of the day – City tour Bucharest. Giurgiu

Today's excursion will take you from the landing stage in Oltenita to Bucharest, the capital of Romania, about 65 km away. The cityscape of Bucharest is characterized by a diverse architecture with a colorful mix of styles in a small space. Major attractions include the Arcul de Triumf (Triumphal Arch), the Romanian Athenaeum, a domed rotunda that houses the Concert Hall, the Bucharest Royal Castle and Victoria Palace on Victory Square. In Bucharest, you will see the second largest administrative building in the world and the parliament palace with its splendid boulevard.

Arrival 14:30 – Departure 15:00. Return of the excursion guests.

Day 7

Tulcea Arrival 08:00 – Departure 12:30.

Excursion of the day - Danube delta

The excursion starts from Tulcea and brings you the highlight of your journey. With a motorboat you drive to the Romanian Danube Delta, the second largest river delta in Europe, which consists of three main arms. Here the Danube flows into the Black Sea. In the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, about 5,200 different animal and plant species have been detected so far. The closely related habitats such as reed beds, floating islands, oxbow lakes and lakes, alluvial forests and extreme dry biotopes make up a unique network of over 30 ecosystems in the estuary. Some of these species are considered rare or endangered.

Day 6

Rousse Arrival 09:00 – Departure 13:00.

Excursion of the day - City tour Rousse 

Today you will discover the city of Rousse. Your tour begins at the dock and takes you to some of the city's 200 architecturally significant buildings. The Town Hall, the Savings Bank Complex, the House of Industry and Commerce, the House of Seafaring and the Cultural Club are just some of them. Striking in the center of the city are the many historicist residential and commercial buildings from the period around 1900, which were often designed by Austrian architects. That's why the city is often called "Little Vienna". Also worth mentioning is the courthouse. The Holy Trinity Church is the oldest church in the city, it was dedicated in 1632.

Day 4

Belgrade Arrival 13:00 – Departure 22:00.

Excursion of the day – City tour Belgrade

You will travel by bus to Kalemegdan, the oldest and most beautiful area of Belgrad, a little hill above the outlet of the Sava into the Danube. There you will find an old fortress and a rediscovery side, which proves the mortality of many civilizations, all the time back to the Roman Empire. In the old part of the city you will see buildings built in the Balkan style and in the old Serbian style for example Konak the princess Ljubica, the Dositej’s Lyceum, the Bajrakli Mosque and many more.

Day 3

Kalocsa Arrival 15:00 – Departure 18:30.

Excursion of the day – Kalocsa/Puszta Mohács

Kalocsa is a little city located in southern Hungary and the oldest city in existents in Hungary. Next to the „PaprikaMuseum“ is the cathedral square with the dean’s residence buildings, the cathedral with its organ, on which Franz Liszt played, and especially the archbishop palace is significant. Inside the palace are beside the library particularly the state apartment and the oratory remarkable.

Day 2

Vienna Arrival 12:00 – Departure 17:30.

Excursion of the day – City Tour Vienna

Your City tour begins at the pier and brings you by bus to the Prater- and Ringstreet, passing by the „Schottentor“, the Votive church, the City Hall, the “Palais Auersperg”, the folk theatre, the museum quarter, including the “Karlsplatz” and art museum “Albertina”. Here starts your guided tour through the down town area including the „Albertina“, the famous Spanish Riding School, the Hofburg Palace, the “Michaelerplatz” and the “Kohlmarkt”, as well as the “Graben” in the old city centre, not to forget the “Stephansplatz” with the gothic “St. Stephen's Cathedral” – affectionately called „Steffl“. Here you haveTime to venture out on your own. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and indulge with a piece of „Sachertorte” in one of many little Coffee houses. Afterwards we walk back to the „Albertina“and take the bus back while enjoying the view of the Vienna State Opera and the “Karlsplatz”. Continuing on alongside the City Park, to the „Franzensbrücke“ on to the “Praterstern” and concluding our tour at our pier.
